“I got accepted into the police academy in California in May 2009. To get ready for it, I decided it was time to hit the gym. My first day there, my best friend and I heard this music playing in the background, coming from an aerobics room filled with women. They were dancing like crazy! We were so curious, so we took a chance and joined the class. I was hooked.
After I graduated as a police officer, I also became a Zumba Instructor. It’s my stress reliever. I find myself thinking about routines while I’m on duty. I have a ton of passion for both of my jobs and I show it with a huge smile on my face, no matter what. When my police uniform comes off and the Zumba outfits come on, it’s time to party! There’s nothing else I’d rather do than protect my community and then teach them a dance move or two.”
